Job Purpose

The Pricing & Access Director is accountable for strategic HTA, Pricing & Access and Operational Pricing at Recordati Rare Diseases (RRD). The Pricing & Access Director will lead the design and execution of value-based HTA, pricing and access (P&A) strategies for a diverse portfolio of products at RRD, own and drive RRD’s operational pricing and governance as well as ensuring the development of the appropriate capabilities, capacity and excellence at RRD

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Pricing Leadership and Business Development:
•    Develop and implement global P&A strategies across the pipeline, launches and inline portfolio with a focus on strategic assets
•    Monitor global healthcare policy, HTA, access and pricing trends to anticipate challenges and opportunities (e.g. reference pricing, biosimilar impact, healthcare spending policies)
•    Prioritize P&A efforts based on product lifecycle stage and strategic importance
•    Lead P&A assessment of Business Development assets, including in-house developments and external opportunities
2. Governance & Compliance, Capability and Capacity Development:
•    Drive change management initiatives to foster a culture of P&A excellence and ensure adoption of new processes,systems and tools
•    Define and govern pricing processes, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities and organizational consistency
•    Ensure compliance with P&A policies and manage risks related to International reference pricing (IRP)
•    Collaborate with key stakeholders to align and coordinate global, regional, and local teams, as well as functions such as Global Value & Access, Commercial, Medical, Compliance, and Finance
•    Educate stakeholders on core P&A capabilities and keep them informed of key HTA and P&A trends
•    Maintain up-to-date knowledge and capabilities for self and direct reports
3. Operational Pricing Excellence, Pricing Analytics & Research:
•    Develop integrated pricing systems and capabilities, leveraging data for proactive insights, decision-making, price forecasting, and horizon scanning
•    Acquire or develop and maintain pricing tools (e.g., IRP calculators, price tracking dashboards, Excel-based forecasting tools, price governance tools, price database)
•    Conduct primary and secondary pricing research to inform investment decisions from a P&A perspective, launch pricing and lifecycle price adjustments
4. Management, Communication and Collaboration:
•    Work closely with Senior Management and cross-functional teams to align P&A strategies and governance
•    Serve as a senior subject matter expert on P&A alongside the Global Head of Value & Access
•    Tahe direct people management responsibility which will grow with company expansion
•    Lead Global Pricing Committees
•    Regularly update cross-functional teams, Senior Management and Regiona/Affiliates on status and progress
•    Ensure appropriate representation of brand P&A strategies and tactics in Global Brand Plans

5. Budget, Expenses, Administrative and Legal Matters:
•    Propose annual budget and monitor spend versus approved budget
•    Forecast spend in line with internal financial milestones
•    Ensure compliance with internal and external finance procedures and contracts with external vendors  
•    Liaise directly with external providers for tasks under responsibility
•    Report proactively and regularly on activities, milestones and KPIs to the Global Head of Value & Access and on internal collaboration platforms

Required Education

  • Graduate degree in medicine, sciences, business administration, economics, health policy, health economics or other relevant qualification.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years relevant experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies, Payer or Health Technology Assessment agencies, or relevant consultancy companies in a multi-national context
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in global pharmaceutical Pricing & Access, including operational pricing.
  • Extensive experience with global HTA and P&A frameworks, including knowledge of diverse healthcare systems in key markets (US, EU, UK, MENA, AUS, CAN, JP, SKor, BRA)
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience of working in an above country role/Global team in the market access space
  • Experience driving change within an organization, particularly in establishing new processes, teams, or systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex clinical and economic data
  • Strategic thinking with strong project management
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams

Technical Competencies

  • Microsoft Office package, particularly Powerpoint, WORD, Excel. Pricing software.
