Job Purpose

Lead and drive Medical Affairs activities across the Czech Republic and Slovakia by developing and implementing the local medical strategy, providing scientific and medical leadership, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and ethical standards, and supporting the generation and communication of scientific evidence throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and implement the Medical Affairs strategy and annual medical plan for CZ & SK
  • Provide medical and scientific expertise for assigned products and therapeutic areas
  • Lead, coordinate and support the Medical Affairs team (2 MSLs CZ, 1 MSL SK)
  • Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals, investigators, scientific societies and academic institutions
  • Generate, analyse and communicate medical insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Review and oversee the scientific accuracy, quality and compliance of medical and scientific materials
  • Support clinical studies, observational studies, Real World Evidence projects and other evidence-generation initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Compliance, Legal and regional/global Medical Affairs teams
  • Ensure all medical activities are conducted in line with legal, regulatory, ethical and internal requirements
  • Identify and escalate medical, regulatory, safety and compliance risks

Required Education

  • University degree in Medicine or Pharmacy

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Medical Affairs.
  • Experience in medical strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience in engagement with the scientific and healthcare community.
  • Experience in scientific review of materials.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in team leadership.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare, scientific and regulatory environment in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
  • Experience in clinical programmes, evidence generation, publications or medical education is an advantage.

Technical Competencies

  • Very good knowledge of Medical Affairs processes.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research and evidence generation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, ethical and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature.
  • Ability to interpret complex clinical data.
  • Proficiency in standard office, communication and medical systems.
