Procurement Analyst

Job Purpose
The Procurement Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Procurement department by analyzing spending, monitoring key procurement activities, and tracking performance indicators. This role provides analytical insights that underpin strategic decision-making and help ensure efficient procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Spend Analysis: analyze group-wide procurement expenses to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential supplier consolidation. Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and other business units to build and maintain a robust data foundation.
- Sourcing Strategy Support: provide ad hoc analysis to assist sourcing teams in supplier evaluations, negotiation strategy development, and assessment of contractual terms.
- Savings Tracking: monitor, validate (in collaboration with Finance), and report on savings generated through procurement negotiations.
- Annual Rebates: calculate year-end rebates and coordinate with suppliers and Finance to ensure accurate tracking and collection.
- Contract Compliance Support: assist in ensuring procurement contracts align with company policies by supporting compliance audits and maintaining monitoring tools.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in procurement, financial analysis, or a similar role within structured organizations.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query) and proficiency in analyzing complex data sets.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Involvement in data-driven procurement projects, cost-saving initiatives, or spend analysis within large organizations.
- Experience working in an international environment or with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with compliance and audit processes in regulated sectors (e.g., finance, pharmaceuticals, government) is an advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Data Analysis & KPI Tracking: proficient in analyzing key procurement KPIs (e.g., savings, number of suppliers, number of tenders, category spend) using advanced Excel and reporting tools.
- Procurement Tools & ERP Systems: experience with procurement management systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP) for effective data extraction and analysis.
- Financial & Cost Analysis: solid understanding of cost analysis principles and tracking savings generated through procurement activities.
- Process Monitoring & Reporting: ability to design dashboards and reports to monitor procurement performance and support sourcing strategies.
- Automation & AI-driven Insights (Preferred): familiarity with process automation tools (RPA) and AI accelerators is a plus to enhance procurement efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
