Job Purpose

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager RSPP  is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures that ensure a safe workplace and compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in a pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing environment. The HSE Manager leads initiatives to foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, working closely with all departments to minimise risk and promote best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in accordance with national and international standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and EU regulations related to occupational health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and ensure root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive measures.
  • Coordinate and deliver HSE training programmes for employees at all levels.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, including KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external parties, regulatory authorities, and emergency services.
  • Support sustainability projects and pollution prevention initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit documentation required for permits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
  • Promote a safety-oriented culture and proactive risk management throughout the organisation.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Covering the role of RSPP, Minimum of 6 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within pharmaceutical or chemical industries.

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong understanding of Italian and European health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
