Job Purpose

As the Medical Lead – Cardiovascular you will provide strategic medical leadership for a newly launched cardiovascular product across Recordati territory, working alongside an enthusiastic cross-functional team.

To be successful in this role, you need to be thriving in fast paced environments and be equally comfortable providing strategic direction as well as rolling up your sleeves to support operational execution.

This role requires a deep understanding of the therapy area and the science behind the product, as well as strong business acumen and interest in the market dynamics.

Your closest partner will be the International Marketing Lead, however you will be in regular contact with the teams from the affiliates to sustain momentum in early-launch countries while preparing upcoming markets for a strong, aligned launch.

Externally, you will drive strong scientific communication and lead strategic projects with the top international experts.

This position can be based out of Spain, Italy or Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy and Leadership

· Develop and lead regional medical strategy for the new-to-market cardiovascular product, in alignment with global brand strategy

· Act as the scientific expert for the product across the region

· Provide strategic medical input to regional brand plans and for lifecycle management

· Organize and lead cardiovascular scientific meetings with the Medical teams from the affiliates

· Develop and implement strategic scientific projects with international scope

· Define medical success metrics, set clear KPIs, and guide prioritization of international and market-specific launch activities.

· Integrate omnichannel strategies in medical communication and education

 

Scientific engagements

· Build and maintain strong relationships with international key opinion leaders (KOLs), scientific societies, and patient organisations in cardiovascular medicine

· Lead advisory boards, expert meetings, and scientific exchange activities

· Represent the company at major European and international congresses

 

Launch Readiness & Best Practice Sharing

· Guide affiliates in the medical launch readiness activities

· Oversee creation and delivery of launch-related medical materials (e.g., core scientific narratives, FAQs, training content)

· Partner with Global Medical, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory teams to ensure a coordinated and compliant launch

· Identify and facilitate sharing of launch learnings and best practices between countries to accelerate launch success and drive synergies.

· Collaborate with the Market Access in development and review of value dossiers

· Provide scientific input in the creation of business cases for market entry, ensuring a robust basis for the assumptions for modelling

 

Evidence Generation & Medical Affairs Activities

· Provide medical oversight and input into real-world evidence (RWE), and post-marketing studies

· Actively look for opportunities for RWE projects to strengthen scientific evidence related to the product

· Support publication strategy and review scientific publications and congress materials

· Ensure medical insights from the field are captured and fed back into global and regional strategies

 

Governance & Compliance

· Ensure all medical activities comply with internal standards, local regulations, and industry codes (e.g., EFPIA)

· Review and approve corporate promotional and non-promotional materials from a medical perspective

· Support global pharmacovigilance and regulatory activities, including safety signal evaluation, risk management and review of clinical parts of the regulatory dossiers

Required Skills and Experience

· 7+ years in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry, with significant experience in cardiovascular field and above- country roles.

· Experience in successful above-market product launches

· Deep understanding of the cardiovascular treatment landscape, including evolving standards of care, guideline development, and payer expectations.
