Associate Director Real World Research Scientist

Job Purpose
We're looking for an Associate Director Real World Researcher Scientist to help elevate our Real World Evidence (RWE) capabilities across the organization.
This role is reporting directly to the Global Head of Medical Evidence, with regular exposure to senior leadership. You will play a key role in building the internal brand for RWE, influencing strategic decisions, and guiding evidence generation planning across our development and marketed portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver integrated evidence plans and real-world evidence strategies to support patient access and label expansion by demonstrating the value of our therapies.
- Lead and oversee studies in outcomes research and comparative effectiveness (CER), leveraging EMR, claims, and registry data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with medical, market access, clinical development, and regulatory teams.
- Champion the use of real-world data within the organization; educate and influence key stakeholders on the value of RWE.
- Identify and manage external research partnerships and data providers to support strategic initiatives.
- Author or oversee scientific publications, HTA dossiers, and internal decision support materials.
- Contribute to shaping the long-term vision of Medical Evidence within the company.
Required Education
Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MPH, or MSc) in epidemiology, public health, outcomes research, or related discipline.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in real-world evidence, outcomes research, or HEOR within biopharma, consulting, or academia.
- Strong track record in designing, executing, and publishing comparative effectiveness or RWD-based studies.
- Specific experience within the biopharmaceutical sector is essential.
- Ideally, experience in rare diseases or other high unmet need therapeutic areas.
Skills
- Epidemiology & Study Design Expertise: Strong command of epidemiological principles, observational study designs (cohort, case-control), and robust bias management (selection, measurement, confounding).
- Real-World Data Proficiency: Proven ability to effectively utilize large databases, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR), claims data, and patient registries, for research.
- Statistical Software Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency in using statistical software such as SAS, R, or Python for advanced data analysis.
- Scientific Communication & Dissemination: Ability to author and oversee high-quality scientific publications, HTA dossiers, and internal decision-support materials, clearly articulating complex evidence to diverse audiences.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex research projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- External Stakeholder Management: Skill in identifying, evaluating, and managing external research partnerships and data providers to ensure strategic alignment and successful outcomes.

Required Languages
Fluent English is required. Other European languages, in particular Italian is a plus.
