R&D Laboratory Technician

Job Purpose
The figure will be placed in the research and development laboratory and will perform laboratory tests and analyses, mainly instrumental, to support the manager in the management of existing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs practical work in analytical laboratories (e.g. performing analyses on intermediates and finished products, developing and optimising analytical methods, validating analytical methods).
- Monitors the correct functioning of analytical instrumentation (HPLC instruments, gas chromatographs, karl-fisher, titrators, etc.), working directly on the instrument in situations where external and extraordinary maintenance is not required.
- He/she is in charge of drawing up the laboratory notebook (paper and/or electronic) to experimentally document the activities carried out.
- Under the supervision of the Senior Researcher, performs the calculations necessary for carrying out the analysis.
- He/she is responsible for carrying out GMP analyses for the process controls foreseen by the production processes that take place in the R&D and Pilot departments, i.e. small-scale production of Orphan Drugs in the GMP Isolator plant of the Research Centre and in the Pilot plant, for the use of which he/she receives the appropriate training.
- Works shifts or daily hours.
- Assists the Senior Researcher in the optimal resolution of analytical and/or investigative problems and in organising the tests to be carried out.
- He/she is involved by the Senior Researcher in following the entire course of the project he/she is working on and the analytical results.
Required Education
Diploma in scientific disciplines (e.g. chemistry, biotechnology) and/or degree in Chemistry, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in other chemical and pharmaceutical companies is preferred.
- Theoretical principles of basic chemistry.
- Knowledge of chemical laboratory techniques.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC, gas chromatography, thin layer chromatography, potentiometric titrations).
- Knowledge of investigative analytical techniques such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong inclination towards team working.
Required Languages
Knowledge of the English language is preferred.
