Chemical Operational Excellence Specialist

Job Purpose
The Operational Excellence Specialist will be responsible for identifying and managing improvement opportunities and support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives within the API Manufacturing Plants. This role, reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, aims to improve process efficiencies, reduce costs, enhance product quality, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Cost Reduction and Efficiency Improvement: Analyze operational processes to identify cost-saving opportunities, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
Quality and Compliance: Ensure all operational excellence initiatives comply with regulatory standards and quality requirements. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to integrate quality improvements into process enhancements.
Training and Development: train staff on operational excellence principles and techniques. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the organization.
Performance Monitoring: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of operational excellence initiatives. Report on progress to senior management and adjust strategies as necessary.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, Production, and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Change Management: Support change management initiatives, ensuring that changes are smoothly and successfully implemented to achieve lasting benefits.
Required Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field.
Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement roles, ideally within the pharmaceutical or API manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
Proven track record of implementing successful process improvement projects.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
Flexibility to work outside of standard office hours as needed to support plant operations
