Overview

The Therapeutic Education Manager (TEM) is a key field-based member of the Patient Services team. The TEM provides disease and product information and on-going support, to Cold Agglutinin Disease (CAD), Acute Intermittent Porphyria (AIP) and idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) patients. The TEM establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with the infusion staff to provide education to ensure a seamless infusion experience for patients. The TEM is a subject matter expert on disease state, product, administration and services. The TEM works collaboratively with cross-functional team members to facilitate timely and on-going access to therapy. TEM’s must also ensure full compliance with all corporate and industry policies and legal and regulatory requirements for all field activities.

Key Responsibilities

Infusion Site Education (30%)
•    Educate infusion staff on disease, product, procurement, administration and support services in accordance with approved resources post prescription and/or shipment
•    Educate home health care providers to ensure they are well-educated prior to treating prescribed patients with approved resources
•    Develop and maintain account plans to support on-going infusion education. Utilizes CRM to manage territory and record activities
•    Conducting educational programming with infusion staff utilizing approved resources
Patient Education & Assistance (70%)
•    Engage with patients to educate on disease and product using approved resources
•    Ensure the patient is well educated and does not face unnecessary financial barriers or site of care issues to therapy
•    Communicate any barriers to enrollment and therapy to the prescriber/office staff. Seek to reduce overall cycle time for prescribed patient starts
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with other field-based teams and case managers to support patient access, enrollment and appropriate adherence to prescribed therapy.
•    Conduct branded and unbranded patient education programs (live and virtual) for patients using approved resources.
•    Support appropriate on-going adherence to prescribed therapy.
•    Identify opportunities to further support the patient communities, including representing Recordati at local patient events.
•    Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient engagement within the CRM system.
General
•    Act in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies including adverse events / pharmacovigilance responsibilities.
•    Perform additional duties as may be assigned.

Education and Preferred Experience

•    BA/BS degree is required

•    A nursing or clinical background is required

•    Previous clinical experience (hospital or home health) with IV infusion is required

•    3+ years previous patient services education industry experience required

•    Field sales account management experience preferred

•    Language requirements: English required and bi-lingual preferred

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers. Based upon job requirements, the employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. The employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation. The employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier.

This is moderately a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally is required to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.

Location

•    This position is a field-based position with proximity to a major airport.
•    Ability to travel up to 50% within a territory is required. Ability to travel to meetings / trainings / programs as necessary. Additional travel will be required within the assigned geography.
•    The position requires a valid driver’s license.

Annualized Pay Range (Base Pay): $112,000 - $154,000 Other Types of Pay: Annual bonus
