This position is with Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. (RRD), North America, an affiliate of Recordati.

Overview

The Senior Manager, Patient Liaison Team, leads a team of experienced Patient Liaisons across North America. This role is accountable for ensuring opted in patients receive high-quality support throughout their treatment journey. The Senior Manager provides training, coaching, development, and operational guidance to the Patient Liaison team, ensuring consistency, compliance, and patient focus across the US. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, functional execution, and building strong cross-functional partnerships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development
•    Lead, coach, and develop the Patient Liaison team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
•    Provide guidance and mentorship to team members with varied levels of experience, ensuring consistent professional development.
•    Conduct regular performance check-ins and feedback, aligned to company values and objectives.
•    Develops and conducts training for Patient Liaison team for company meetings and throughout the year.
Patient & Caregiver Engagement
•    Ensure the Patient Liaison team delivers consistent, high-quality support to patients and caregivers throughout their treatment journey.
•    Oversee team activities to ensure compassionate, compliant, and effective patient interactions across therapeutic areas.
•    Establish best practices and standard operating procedures that enhance patient engagement and satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Serve as the primary liaison between the Patient Liaison team and internal stakeholders including Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Compliance.
•    Represent patient perspectives in internal meetings, contributing insights to improve strategy and execution.
Operational & Strategic Management
•    Develop and implement team goals, objectives, and metrics aligned to broader business priorities.
•    Manage team operations to ensure correct territory alignments and implement technology enhancements.
•    Monitor patient trends and field insights, providing leadership with actionable recommendations.
•    Maintain oversight of program documentation, data integrity, and reporting for leadership and compliance purposes.
Compliance & Risk Management
•    Ensure all team activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.
•    Partner with Compliance and Legal to proactively identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure proper training.
•    Uphold strict adherence to pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting obligations.
 Additional Duties
•    Manage budget and resource planning for the Patient Liaison team.
•    Lead or support special projects related to patient engagement, access, and support services.
•    Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

Education and Experience

•    BA/BS Degree required.  MA/MS in Life Sciences preferred. 
•    Minimum of 8 years of Pharmaceutical/biotech experience in a similar role preferred
•    Minimum of 3+ years of management experience
•    Prior experience within rare diseases is strongly preferred
•    Experience supporting and providing education to patients and family members affected by rare diseases or other chronic illnesses is a plus

•    Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to balance strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  Based upon job requirements, employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights.  Employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation.  Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier.  
This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally is required to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.

Location

•    This position is field based with travel to RRD’s Headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Advocacy meetings as needed.
•    This position requires 10%  of travel as needed.

Annualized Pay Range (Base Pay): $144,000 - $184,000 Other Types of Pay: Annual bonus Health Insurance: Medical, dental, orthodontia, vision, life & ADD, short and long term disability insurance benefits. Retirement Benefits: 401k Paid Time Off: Vacation, holiday, and sick/personal time.
