This position is with Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. (RRD), North America, an affiliate of Recordati.

Overview

Under supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the Accounting and Finance team supporting the month end close procedures with specific responsibility for Industrial support, Inventory, Statutory Reporting and Consolidation. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will provide a high level of analytical support related to the consolidated financial statements including Gross to Net, COGs variance and monthly Corporate Reporting (Detailed Forms) as well as other ad hoc analysis as required for the Vice President, Finance and Controller. The Senior Accountant will partner cross-functionally within the local organization as well as with global colleagues to support the Accounting and Finance close process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting & Month End Close Support
• Develop annual standard costs in conjunction with Supply Chain for all local products
• Prepare monthly inventory reports including COGs variance analysis and Finished Goodsinventory
• Prepare inventory obsolescence analysis
• Prepare monthly inventory reconciliation to supplier reports and investigate any discrepancies
• Prepare prepaid insurance schedule, track renewals and record amortization entries
• Adhoc analyses as required

Industrial Support
• Support Industrial with budget and periodic forecasting, uploading results in Planning
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Perform SAP material ledger processing to support industrial accounting, inventory valuation, and
cost analysis
• Monitor Budget vs Actual performance for Industrial and manufacturing cost centers
• Develop and provide variance comments explaining key drivers and impact
• Prepare and record elimination entries to ensure accurate consolidation financial reporting
• Record all monthly accruals related to transportation and Industrial purchase orders

Working Capital Analysis
• Responsible for Balance Sheet Analytics
• Establish monthly review of balance sheets accounts
• Establish and oversee review process to ensure all accounts are reconciled
• Review Entries made by other members to ensure accuracy

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• 5-7 years’ experience in an Accounting function
• CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, knowledge of IFRS a plus
• Experience working within an international organization, partnering across multiple locations and
time zones and with multiple currencies
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SAP, Hyperion, and Concur
• Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality results within a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Based upon job requirements, employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. Employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation. Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally isrequired to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.

• This position is based at RRD’s Headquarters in Bridgewater, NJ
• Minimal travel required.
