This position is with Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. (RRD), North America, an affiliate of Recordati.

Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. Overview

The Patient Liaison (PL) will work in a highly visible, strong team environment to provide exceptional Customer Service on all levels. The PL will have direct communication with patients that opt-in to receiving communications and resources from Recordati Rare Diseases through the Recordati Access, Resources, and Engagement (R.A.R.E.) patient support service. The PL is responsible for educating about disease states and treatment. In addition, the PL will coordinate with specialty pharmacy partners, Field Reimbursement Managers, and field-based Rare Disease Account Managers.
The PL will be responsible for the coverage of one or more territories as assigned and will have Central Time working hours.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Leads effort to provide disease state education, product education and support to patients and their caregivers.
•    Works closely with Specialty Pharmacy partners to monitor steps required to gain and maintain access to therapy.
•    Works closely with Field Reimbursement Managers by keeping them updated about the current disposition with each case.
•    Becomes an expert in understanding and explaining the data reports from specialty pharmacy partners.
•    Completes required work in CRM system to facilitate tracking of critical key performance metrics.
•    Offers constructive feedback on existing work plans and proposes innovative service offerings to leadership where opportunities exist.
•    Ensures compliance with all corporate and industry policies per training provided by Recordati Rare Disease Commercial, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Officers.
•    Communicates insurance challenges to Market Access personnel.
•    Attends advocacy meetings to share disease state education.
•    Travels to territories that may benefit from face-to-face meetings with customers.
•    Other job duties may be assigned.
 

Education and Experience

•    BA/BS Degree in Life Sciences or Communication preferred.
•    Minimum of 5 years of Pharmaceutical/biotech experience in a similar role preferred
•    Prior experience within rare diseases is strongly preferred
•    Experience supporting and providing education to patients and family members affected by rare diseases or other chronic illnesses is a plus

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Based upon job requirements, employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. Employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation. Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally is required to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.
 

Location

•    This position is field based with travel to RRD’s Headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Advocacy meetings as needed.
•    This position requires 10% of travel as needed.
