This position is with Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. (RRD), North America, an affiliate of Recordati.

Recordati Rare Diseases, Inc. Overview

As an Indirect Procurement Manager, you will be responsible to set up the Indirect Procurement area for driving value through sourcing projects, including a variety of the categories of spend and functions for Recordati Rare Diseases North America.  Your role is going to be a key contributor to the delivery of our business objectives, being responsible for leading and managing the procurement function within our organization in North America (US and Canada).  You will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies, aligned with the HQ and global category managers, as well the Regional Leadership Team's objectives and budgetary requirements. These plans will have a threshold that should be met per Company guidelines. 
•    Negotiation: is a core component of the role where the incumbent secures favourable terms for RRD.    
•    Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions to optimize value for the organization.
•    Process management:  This role will define and provide oversight on the procurement process, platform training, and process education and governance for the North American business entity.
•    Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and the duly application of the terms and conditions agreed with suppliers
•    Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives through efficient procurement practices, market analysis, and supplier negotiations. Driving operational efficiencies by ensuring Contract & Preferred Supplier list compliance as well as managing the Tail spend
•    Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
•    Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing & Sales, Supply Chain, HR, etc to align procurement activities with business needs and priorities.
•    Compliance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards, promoting transparency, fairness, and integrity in all procurement activities.
•    Procurement expertise: Be the Regional expert in the spend categories within scope of responsibility. Build strategic relationships with main stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement’s value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
•    Act in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies including adverse events/ pharmacovigilance responsibilities.
•    Perform additional duties as may be assigned.
 

Education and Experience

•    University Degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, or similar 
•    Core Procurement background is required across key Procurement Capabilities including but not limited to exceptionally strong negotiation skills, contracting skills, and strategic sourcing. In addition, strategy implementation capabilities will be required in performing this role. (experience in medical device/pharmaceutical and regulated industry a plus)
•    Demonstrated expertise in managing categories, particularly with respect to developing & implementing strategies, stakeholders management and suppliers relationship management.
•    Demonstrated experience in influencing strategy and managing across multiple geographies and business units.
•    Demonstrated experience in managing global/regional projects with consideration to diverse local needs
•    Capability to manage relationships with high level stakeholders (VP/GM), being an active contributor in the leadership teams to drive the business agenda.
 

Knowledge and Skills

•    Relevant previous experience in a similar role, preferably in healthcare and/or in mass market distributed businesses.
•    Prior experience in establishing an Indirect Procurement organization within an affiliate of matrixed organization.  
•    English mother tongue, Italian and other foreign languages as a plus.
 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  Based upon job requirements, employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. Employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation.  Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier.  

This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally is required to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.
 

Location/Travel

•    The location for this position is the RRD Headquarters office in New Jersey.
•    This is a hybrid role and will require being in the office a minimum of 3 days per week
•    The position may require travel time up to 25% of the time – including internationally (Canada & Italy)
 

FLSA Classification

•    This position is considered Exempt.
