Overview

The Hospital Rare Disease Account Manager plays a critical role in improving local access to Recordati’s rare disease portfolio within hospitals, pituitary centers, and integrated delivery networks (IDNs). This individual will lead efforts to secure formulary inclusion or implement consignment programs, ensuring prescribers have uninterrupted access to therapies for their patients. The role requires strategic engagement with institutional stakeholders, cross-functional collaboration, and deep market insight to drive access and advocacy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Account Focused Strategy Execution & Stakeholder Engagement
•    Lead formulary and consignment program efforts within Academic Institutions, Pituitary Centers and IDN’s and map the buying centers between RRD and the institution (P&T, Pharmacy Ops, Materials Management, Finance and IT)
•    Expand and cultivate relationships with influential stakeholders (pharmacists, KOLs, payer industry relations & clinical teams as well as decision makers to support RRD brand awareness and accessibility.

•    Build and maintain relationships with Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee members, hospital pharmacists, and clinical decision-makers through tailored clinical/economic presentations and proposals that support adoption and appropriate use
•    Support clinical and/or economic discussions while implementing focused initiatives within strategic accounts
that are aligned to both RRD and the institution’s goals.
•    Engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to foster advocacy and support for Recordati’s rare disease therapies
Consignment Implementation and Operational Excellence
•    Secure and implement local account-based formulary initiatives and those necessary for the adoption of hospital inpatient consignment programs.
•    Align and hold accountable to agreements regarding par levels, reorder rules, charge capture, reconciliation cadence, return/expiry process and coordinate go-live with customers.
•    Ensure coordination of services with Access, HEOR, etc and a “who does what” tutorials prior to consignment go-live.
•    Ensure systems readiness and proper account management (stockouts, shrink, expires) and adjust min/max levels to patient flow.

Access, Policy & Collaboration
•    Partner with National Account and other Recordati staff to align on payer dynamics that impact patient decisions; help to translate local coverages/policies into practical hospital access steps/
•    Coordinate with Trade, reimbursement and patient services to remove any operational barriers to support continuity of care post discharge.
•    Drive uptake of relevant clinical pathways/treatment guidelines within target accounts; focus initially on Endocrinology with potential broader portfolio support.
•    Collaborate with account affiliated policy teams and rare disease patient advocacy organizations to identify opportunities that shape rare disease policy initiatives.

Field Alignment and Insights
•    Partner in support of field-based teams, including sales and field medical/HEOR, to align strategies and ensure coordination of customer-focused initiatives.
•    Represent the company at key industry conferences focused on rare disease and hospital access.
•    Gather and synthesize market and stakeholder insights to inform internal teams, influence strategic planning, and identify opportunities for account engagement.
•    Maintain strict adherence to RRD policies and all applicable laws/regulations (e.g., FDA/OIG, pharmacovigilance reporting).
•    Maintain complete and timely CRM documentation of activities, decisions, and outcomes.

Access and Policy Influence
•    Coordinate activities that enhance local access at the integrated delivery network (IDN) level. This includes aligning on payer strategies, sharing institutional insights, and jointly identifying opportunities where local payer dynamics may influence hospital formulary decisions or consignment adoption.
•    Together with NADs, develop tailored access solutions that address both clinical and economic barriers, ensuring seamless availability of Recordati therapies within hospital systems.
•    Partner with trade/distribution, payer, reimbursement, and patient support services teams to address access-related barriers.

Commercial Readiness
•    Help lead national and regional initiatives that drive uptake and implementation of rare disease clinical pathways and related treatment guidelines within target accounts.
•    Focus will be on Endocrinology with the potential for the broader portfolio of RRD products in the future.

•    Adhere to RRD corporate and healthcare compliance guidance in all activities.

Education and Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    10+ years of experience in the healthcare/biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on rare disease (endocrinology & metabolism experience highly desirable).
•    Proven success in strategic account management, stakeholder engagement, and/or market access roles.
•    Strong working knowledge of the rare disease business landscape including hospital dynamics, regional payers, and professional organizations.
•    Excellent strategic thinking, listening, interpersonal presentation and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
•    Ability and willingness to travel as necessary up to 70% at peak times, including regional and national meetings and strategic account visits.

Preferred Experience

•    Experience in rare disease oral, injectable and infused therapies.
•    Hospital Formulary, Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) and subsequent pull through experience preferred
•    Existing relationships with C-Suite, Executive Leadership, and Pharmacy Directors within target accounts
•    Record of building strategic partnerships in rare disease particularly with decision-makers in large Hospitals and IDN’s.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Based upon job requirements, employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. Employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation. Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.

Base Pay Range: $180,000 to $270,000 per year Other Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in the Sales Incentive Plan.
