Overview

The Associate Training and Development Director Hematology & Oncology hands-on leadership and executional excellence to the function and flawless execution to ensure maximum effectiveness of our field-based associates. 
This role combines strategy and execution, creating high-impact, customized training solutions that build the knowledge, skills, and mindset of our Hematology & Oncology Commercial organization in support of our associates, customers, and growing portfolio of products. Partnering closely with franchise leadership and cross-functional teams including but not limited to marketing, medical affairs, and HR, the incumbent will develop and implement learning & development programs that cultivate the necessary talent and skills to achieve strategic long-term objectives across RRD’s Hematology & Oncology portfolio.

This role supports the full spectrum of Hematology & Oncology learning needs, including, as priority commercial training, disease-state and product education, and secondly, function-appropriate development for Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Field Reimbursement, and Market Access.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Learning Strategy and Design
•    Support the development and continuous enhancement of the Hematology & Oncology sales training strategy, platforms, and customer engagement capabilities within Recordati Rare Diseases North America. Ensure a tailored approach that meets the needs of diverse roles such as field sales, field reimbursement, patient services, Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs), Patient Services, Market Access, and Medical Affairs colleagues while promoting collaboration and sharing knowledge across the organization.
•    Develop and implement effective and compliant training programs that support all aspects of the Hematology & Oncology commercialized portfolio, including product, disease state, competitors, account selling, skill building, market access and patient services. Deploy techniques to deliver training programs that are engaging, actionable, scalable, and results driven. Ensure consistency of associates’ capabilities, messaging, and execution for both market, brand and disease state knowledge, and partner with Medical Affairs to ensure aligned and accurate disease-state and clinical training.
•    Expand, establish, organize and coordinate Learning Management System for continuous training, development, and skill building across the Hematology & Oncology organization, supporting both commercial and medical/disease-state learning needs.
•    Conduct regular needs analysis and maintain a forward-looking perspective on the evolving competitive landscape to ensure programs are relevant, differentiated, and impactful in collaboration with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Field Reimbursement, and Market Access partners.

Program Delivery and Execution
•    Deliver and facilitate high impact training sessions, including New Hire/Onboarding, Continuous Advanced Training, workshops, and learning experiences that strengthen product fluency, scientific acumen, and consultative selling skills for commercial, FRM, market access, and relevant medical stakeholders where appropriate.
•    Work with sales leadership, conduct field rides and field-based assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and partner with Medical Affairs to ensure alignment on disease-state and clinical competency expectations..
•    Execute and manage the annual training plan and budget to support new-hire onboarding, ongoing development, regional and national meetings, vendor engagement, and professional development initiatives across all Hematology & Oncology functions requiring commercial, clinical, and disease-state training.
•    Build and deliver POA agenda, workshops, programs that enable associates to continuously grow, develop, and provide greater value to customers and the business, ensuring coordinated and consistent medical and commercial content in partnership with Medical Affairs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration
•    Partner with Hematology & Oncology Business unit leads and Human Resources on implementing programs that develop the necessary talent and skills to achieve long-term strategic objectives across the enterprise, including Medical Affairs, Patient Services, Field Reimbursement, and Market Access. Ensure integration of training materials and assessments within the system
•    Partner with training leads across other business units to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and best-practice alignment across business units.
•    Work proactively with cross-functional partners, including marketing, medical affairs, senior sales leadership, market access, and patient services to determine education and training needs

Continuous Improvement and Innovation
•    Identify, select, and manage external vendors, facilitators, and curriculum partners to ensure program excellence and innovation.
•    Use qualitative and quantitative feedback to measure learning effectiveness, refine content, and enhance impact over time.

Education and Experience

•    Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
•    Minimum 8 years of relevant progressive experience across Sales, Training, and Marketing functions within the pharmaceutical industry, with experience supporting medical affairs, clinical education, or disease-state/scientific content strongly preferred.
•    Minimum 5 years of managing or leading Training & Development initiatives within medical and/or rare disease pharmaceutical organizations
•    Experience operating in a matrixed organization with strong cross-functional collaboration to achieve training and development objectives
•    Experience in Hematology / Oncology required; Rare Disease experience preferred, including experience supporting commercial, medical, field reimbursement, and/or market access stakeholders within Hematology / Oncology.
•    Fluent in English with excellent communication, facilitation and critical thinking skills

Knowledge and Skills

•    Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning management systems for both commercial and medical/scientific learners.
•    Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
•    Demonstrated ability to learn, train and facilitate discussions of complex scientific and clinical concepts
•    Proven ability to translate business needs into practical, engaging learning programs that drive performance across commercial, medical, field reimbursement, and market access stakeholders. 
•    Skilled in presenting clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
•    Collaborative approach with demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships across functions
•    Demonstrates both strategic insight and strong execution skills, driving continuous improvement across training programs and delivery.
•    Strong project management, organization, and attention to detail
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
•    Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards governing pharmaceutical products and compliance, including requirements related to promotional and non-promotional training developed in partnership with Medical Affairs.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Based upon job requirements, the employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. The employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation. The employee is required to have a valid driver's license and means of transportation.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally it is required to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.

Location/Travel

•    The location for this position is the Bridgewater, New Jersey office.
•    Role is hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office
•    The position may require travel time up to 30% of the time
