Job Purpose

The Engineering & EHS Team Lead ensures technical reliability, preventive maintenance excellence, and leads all expansion and CAPEX projects at the Basel Plant. The role provides strategic engineering leadership while operational EHS responsibilities remain with the Local EHS Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the engineering team across mechanical, automation, utilities disciplines.
  • Own expansion, upgrade, and CAPEX projects end-to-end: URS, vendor management, FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification.
  • Ensure high technical availability through preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Oversee engineering documentation, deviations, investigations, CAPAs.
  • Provide EHS leadership oversight while operational EHS is executed by the Local EHS Lead.
  • Promote continuous improvement, digitalization, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, QA, MS&T, Supply Chain, and Global Engineering

Required Education

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong expertise in sterile manufacturing, fill & finish, utilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in CAPEX, expansions, and project management.
  • Solid GMP and compliance knowledge.

Required Behaviours and Competencies

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Required Languages

  • Fluency in German and English.
