Job Purpose

As part of the “Tactical Manufacturing” team, the employee is involved in the support and implementation of both internal and external projects. In this context, they assume technical responsibilities as well as, where applicable, direct or indirect leadership duties within the engineering domain, with the aim of driving technical improvements, increasing efficiency, and promoting sustainable solutions in the production environment.

The employee is also responsible for ensuring the availability and operational functionality of the assigned production equipment. This includes troubleshooting, performing maintenance activities, and conducting periodic reviews. These tasks are subject to specific GMP and GDP requirements and must be carried out in accordance with applicable SOPs and instructions.

In addition, the employee assumes responsibilities related to the production-specific automation and IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement internal and external engineering projects within the assigned operational area.
  • Supervise and coordinate external personnel during maintenance periods.
  • Develop and implement technology-driven solutions to support manufacturing excellence.
  • Perform and oversee maintenance and repair activities to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate actively with the Quality organization to uphold high pharmaceutical standards.
  • Co-manage automation systems and IT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in on-call duties and respond to emergencies as required.
  • Ensure full compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and internal standards.

Required Education

  •  University or technical degree in the field of engineering and/or automation

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience: Several years of hands-on experience in engineering and automation, including preventive maintenance. Proven ability to lead teams (directly and indirectly) to optimize equipment availability.
  • Pharma Expertise: Strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with advanced knowledge of GMP / GxP standards.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Ability to motivate cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Quality Systems: Advanced expertise in Preventive Maintenance, Deviation and CAPA Management.
